WALNUT CREEK RESTAURANTS WITH VEGAN OPTIONS
Benvenuti Ristorante, 1627 North Broadway: Benvenuti offers a vegan capellini rustica, as well
as a couple of vegan side dishes.
Broderick Roadhouse, 1548 Bonanza Street: Broderick offers several vegan items, which are
clearly marked on the menu, including their Fried Cauliflower, Naked Fries,
Vegan Cheeze Steak, Mushroom Impossible, and Impossible Burger.
Burger Lounge, 2920 Ygnacio Valley Road: This burger restaurant has
Impossible burgers, other plant-based burgers, vegan chicken bites, and vegan
cheddar for the burgers. They also have a few different flavors of vegan
milkshakes. Their menu is clearly marked to show which items are or can be made
vegan.
Burma 2, 1616 North Main Street: This restaurant offers vegan
samosas and has a vegan option available for their Burma Burma Noodle dish.
California Fish Grill, 2910 Ygnacio Valley Road: This restaurant lists two plant-based options on its menu – Plant-Based Dynamite “Shrimp” Bowl and Plant-Based Battered “Fish” & Chips.
Cheesecake Factory, 1181 Locust Street, Unit E: The one item specifically
listed as vegan at the Cheesecake Factory is the Vegan Cobb Salad.
Chipotle Mexican Grill, 1158 Locust Street, Unit D-2A: Chipotle offers vegan
bowls made with either beans or their special seasoned, crumbled tofu mixture
called sofritas.
Creekside Grill, 1010
Stanley Dollar Drive: The menu at Creekside lists several items as having a
vegan option available. Check with your server.
Cupcakin' Bake Shop, 1388 N. Main Street: Cupcakin' offers a different flavor of vegan cupcake every month.
Extreme Pizza, 1630 Cypress Street: Extreme Pizza lists several vegan
signature pizzas on their menu. There is a disclaimer indicating that not all
pizzas are available at all locations.
5 Tacos & Beers, 1352 Locust Street: There are a few vegan items on the 5 Tacos & Beers menu, all clearly marked. Vegan Elote, Fruta Picada, and one or two of the tacos on their monthly menu are vegan or can be made vegan. 5 Tacos & Beers also participates in Meatless Monday.
Handel's, 1273 Locust Street: This ice cream shop has a vegan chocolate almond milk ice cream and a vegan strawberry sorbet on their menu.
Ike’s Love & Sandwiches, 1159 Locust Street: Ike’s offers a variety of vegan
sandwiches, as well as some vegetarian sandwiches that can be made vegan. Be
sure to let the person at the counter know that you want vegan cheese and vegan
sauces on your sandwich.
Il Fornaio, 1430 Mount Diablo Boulevard: Il Fornaio lists two
specifically vegan dishes on its menu: Minestrone di Verdure and Insalata
Regina.
Kibi’s Cafe, 1981
North Broadway, Suite 115: This Vietnamese restaurant offer a vegan bánh mí sandwich, fresh summer roll, and
noodle salad.
LifeCafe, 1315
Broadway Plaza Street: This cafe at the Life Time fitness center offers a vegan
PB&B (peanut butter and banana) shake.
The Market by Rooted, 2800 Larkey Lane: This vegan market and sandwich shop just opened in April 2024 and had a line out the door for their soft opening. The tofu banh mi sandwich is excellent and should definitely be followed by one of their ice cream sandwiches, which feature their delicious chocolate chip cookies and a variety of vegan ice cream choices.
Melo’s Italian Table, 1360 Locust Street: Melo’s menu includes a few
clearly-marked vegan options, including a vegan Caesar salad.
Mendocino Farms, 1895 Ygnacio Valley Road: This new restaurant at the
Ygnacio Plaza shopping center offers a vegan bánh mí sandwich, a vegan Impossible taco

Mr. Pickle’s Sandwich Shop, 1991 North Broadway: Mr. Pickle’s has
a sandwich listed under the Wholesome Choice section of their menu called the
“Truly Vegan.”
Mixed Grain, 1546 Bonanza
Street: This Korean restaurant offers a few vegan options that are clearly
marked on their menu: Veggie Soft Tofu Stew, Kimchi Stew, Korean Miso Stew,
Mung Bean or Tofu Pancakes, Vegetable Dumplings, Kimchi, and a variety of

Peet’s Coffeebar, 1343 Locust Street and 1835 Ygnacio
Valley Road: Both Peet’s locations in Walnut Creek offer both oat milk and
almond milk options for their beverages, but their vegan food offerings vary.
Pizza My Heart, 1590
Botelho Drive: There are lots of pizza restaurants that offer vegan cheese, but
Pizza My Heart actually has vegan cheese, vegan sausage, and vegan pepperoni.
They have a vegan and vegetarian pizza section on their menu, with a couple of

Pressed Juicery, 1179A Locust Street: The juices and the soft serve ice
cream at Pressed Juicery are vegan. You should double-check about the toppings
you order for your soft serve.
Rooted Coffee Co., 1321 Locust Street: Three cheers for Rooted, where everything is
plant-based.
SanDai, 1522 North Main Street: This restaurant, offering
cuisine from the Malay archipelago, particularly Singapore and Indonesia, has
several vegan options for both dinner and brunch, marked on the menu with a
“v.”
Sunrise Bistro, 1559
Botelho Drive: Sunrise has several things on their menu that look like they’re
probably plant-based, but the only thing specifically listed as vegan is the
Vegan Breakfast Bowl.
Taqueria Extra, 1653 Mount Diablo Boulevard: Taqueria Extra has a vegan burrito on the
menu.
True Food Kitchen, 120 Broadway Lane, Bldg. 1044 (Broadway Plaza):
Several vegan options are offered at True Food Kitchen and are clearly marked
on the menu. These options include soups, salads, bowls, pizzas, vegetable
appetizers and side dishes, and a vegan burger.
Va de Vi Bistro & Wine Bar, 1511 Mount Diablo Boulevard: Va de Vi offers small
plates, a few of which are vegan and are clearly marked on the menu with a {v}.
