BRENTWOOD RESTAURANTS WITH VEGAN OPTIONS


Boondoggies, 729 First Street: This hot dog restaurant offers a vegan dog.


Chipotle Mexican Grill, 5401 Lone Tree Way, Suite 100: Chipotle offers vegan bowls made with either beans or their special seasoned, crumbled tofu mixture called sofritas.


Denny's, 7400 Brentwood Boulevard: Denny's restaurants are now offering a Plant-Based Pancake Slam, which includes two plant-based pancakes, seasonal fruit, and hash browns. I have heard that they don't offer vegan butter, so if that's important to you, you should take your own.

 

Extreme Pizza, 3120 Balfour Road: Extreme Pizza offers vegan crust, cheese, and protein options for creating your own pizza. They also have vegan wings.

 

Ike’s Love & Sandwiches, 5411 Lone Tree Way, Suite 120: Ike’s offers a variety of vegan sandwiches, as well as some vegetarian sandwiches that can be made vegan. Be sure to let the person at the counter know that you want vegan cheese and vegan sauces on your sandwich.

 

Misaka Sushi, 380 West Country Club Drive, Suite J: This restaurant has vegan ramen on the menu.

 

Mr. Pickle’s Sandwich Shop, 3130 Balfour Road: Mr. Pickle’s has a sandwich listed under the Wholesome Choice section of their menu called the “Truly Vegan.”

 

Zephyr Grill & Bar, 613 First Street: Zephyr’s menu appears to change seasonally, but it always seems to have a vegan item listed.

INTRODUCING CONTRA COSTA VEGAN Hi, I’m Pam Giarrizzo, and I’ve been a vegan since September 2002. I used to live in Sacramento, where I authored the  Sacramento Vegan   blog to let people know what vegan options they could find in local restaurants. Now I live in Walnut Creek, and I’ve been exploring the vegan options in Contra Costa County. As a member of the Planet Friendly Eating Committee of Sustainable Rossmoor, I started this list to let our members know which restaurants in cities near Rossmoor had vegan options. I've since expanded it to include every Contra Costa County restaurant I could find that has plant-based items on their menu. I couldn’t think of any other way to make that information widely available than to start another blog, so here it is.   WALNUT CREEK RESTAURANTS WITH VEGAN OPTIONS Ananas ,  1372 North Main Street: This coffee shop offers vegan banana bread and vegan sesame tahini cookies. Benvenuti Ristorante , 1627 North Broadway: Benvenuti offers a vegan capellini rustica, as well as a couple of vegan side dishes.   Broderick Roadhouse , 1548 Bonanza Street: Broderick offers a few vegan items, which are clearly marked on the menu, including their Naked Fries, Vegan Cheeze Steak, and Impossible Burger.   Burger Lounge , 2920 Ygnacio Valley Road: This burger restaurant has Impossible burgers, other plant-based burgers, vegan chicken bites, and vegan cheddar for the burgers. They also have a few different flavors of vegan milkshakes.
