Antioch Taphouse and Restaurant, 2709 Hillcrest Avenue: This restaurant offers a vegan spring roll appetizer.


Denny's, 2006 Somersville Road: Denny's restaurants are now offering a Plant-Based Pancake Slam, which includes two plant-based pancakes, seasonal fruit, and hash browns. I have heard that they don't offer vegan butter, so if that's important to you, you should take your own.


Four Seasonings Steakhouse, 304 G Street: The menu at this steakhouse has a vegan section listing two options -- portobello mushroom caps and cauliflower steak.


Go Vegan, 2940 Delta Fair Boulevard: Everything on the menu in this restaurant featuring Asian cuisine is vegan.


Green Flour Bakery: This vegan home bakery offers a variety of baked goods that can be ordered for pickup or delivery. 


Hen and Drake Modern Tearoom, 520 W. 2nd Street: This tearoom can provide vegan substitutions for the items on their menu with 48 hours' notice.


Lumpy's Diner, 5891 Lone Tree Way: This diner offers a vegan breakfast skillet and a vegan burger.

 

Mr. Pickle’s Sandwich Shop, 4049 Lone Tree Way: Mr. Pickle’s has a sandwich listed under the Wholesome Choice section of their menu called the “Truly Vegan.”

 

Monica’s Riverview, One I Street: This restaurant offers a breakfast dish called “The Vegan,” consisting of potatoes, veggies, and avocado. Their evening menu also offers a dish called “The Vegan,” which consists of seasonal vegetables and a balsamic rosemary grilled portobello.


Way to Life Foods, 5005 Lone Tree Landing, Suite K: This shop offers a variety of vegan granola products.

INTRODUCING CONTRA COSTA VEGAN Hi, I’m Pam Giarrizzo, and I’ve been a vegan since September 2002. I used to live in Sacramento, where I authored the  Sacramento Vegan   blog to let people know what vegan options they could find in local restaurants. Now I live in Walnut Creek, and I’ve been exploring the vegan options in Contra Costa County. As a member of the Planet Friendly Eating Committee of Sustainable Rossmoor, I started this list to let our members know which restaurants in cities near Rossmoor had vegan options. I've since expanded it to include every Contra Costa County restaurant I could find that has plant-based items on their menu. I couldn’t think of any other way to make that information widely available than to start another blog, so here it is. Click on this link for a list of the cities in Contra Costa County where there are restaurants with vegan options, then click on the city name to find vegan-friendly restaurants there.   WALNUT CREEK RESTAURANTS WITH VEGAN OPTIONS Ananas ,  1372 North Main Street: This coffee shop offers vegan banana bread and vegan sesame tahini cookies. Benvenuti Ristorante , 1627 North Broadway: Benvenuti offers a vegan capellini rustica, as well as a couple of vegan side dishes.   Broderick Roadhouse , 1548 Bonanza Street: Broderick offers a few vegan items, which are clearly marked on the menu, including their Naked Fries, Vegan Cheeze Steak, and Impossible Burger.   Burger Lounge , 2920 Ygnacio Valley Road: This burger restaurant has Impossible burgers, other plant-based burgers, vegan chicken bites, and vegan cheddar for the burgers. They also have a few different flavors of vegan milkshakes.
